Album Sales Hit The Lowest Of Lows

Things may have just hit rock bottom for the record industry. According to Billboard and Nielson Soundscan, in the week ending May 30th, the music industry sold 4,984,000 albums. While it may seem like a decent number, it is the lowest amount of weekly sales since Nielson Soundscan began reporting numbers in 1994.

Not a good sign as far as albums go. Where can the record industry go from here? Straight Lines Music will have an in-depth analysis in next week's Thursday column.
